Statement of faith
Everything we do, from our programs to our worship, is built on and consistent with these beliefs.
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by people moved by the Holy Spirit. It is our infallible authority for what we believe and how we live.
2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21
The Godhead
We believe God is one, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4–6; Philippians 2:6
God the Father
We believe God the Father is the one true God, the Creator of all things, and the source and sustainer of all life.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is the Son of God, one with the Father, God in the flesh. He was crucified to pay for our sins, rose from the dead on the third day and ascended to heaven.
John 1:1, 14, 18; John 10:30; 1 John 1:1
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity, co-equal with the Father and the Son.
John 15:26
Humanity, the Fall and Redemption
We believe people are created in God's image, and that sin entered the world through Adam's disobedience. Salvation is God's gift, offered to everyone. It is not earned by works but received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:9–10, 23; Romans 5:12; Galatians 3:13–14; Ephesians 2:8; 1 John 3:8
New Birth and Eternal Life
We believe that being born again is a new beginning in our relationship with God. Salvation is by grace, through faith, in Jesus alone, and God adopts all who are born again as His children.
John 3:3, 7; Romans 8:15–16; Galatians 4:5; 1 John 3:1
Water Baptism
We believe baptism by immersion in water is a command of Jesus for every believer.
Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36–39
Holiness
We believe that without holiness no one will see the Lord. Sanctification is a work of God's grace that begins when we are born again and continues throughout our lives.
Hebrews 10:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12–14; 1 Corinthians 1:30
Heaven and Hell
We believe heaven is the eternal home of those who repent and believe in Jesus, and hell is the eternal destiny of those who reject Him.
Matthew 25:46; Romans 2:6–8; John 3:36
Marriage and Sexuality
We believe marriage is the permanent, sacred union of one man and one woman.
Genesis 1:27; Romans 1:26–32; 1 Corinthians 6:9–11
The Sanctity of Life
We believe every human life is precious to God, from the womb to the tomb. People of every race and age are equally valued by Jesus, and all life is to be respected and protected.
John 1:3–4; Matthew 18:10; Psalm 82:3–4; Proverbs 31:8–9
Final Authority
This statement does not cover everything we believe. The Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, is the sole and final authority for all we believe.
